Editorial Design
For my magazine design capstone course required for the completion of my degree, I wrote and designed a feature story on 2000s crafts for a semester-long, print-ready magazine project. Working within an established style guide, I combined personal narrative and cultural reflection to explore how childhood creativity often becomes a lifelong passion.
This magazine spread was created for a magazine design capstone course in which students created a 2000s-themed magazine focused on nostalgia, whimsy and celebrating childhood. I was assigned to create an interactive spread for the back of the magazine, which I brought to life by designing a cootie catcher readers can cut out.
Created for an assigment in a magazine design course, students had to create a conceptual magazine spread based on a topic of their choosing. My spread serves as an intro for a hypothetical story about the link between social media, reading and social performance.
Disconnected is a magazine created for an infographics class worked as a team to create a publication focused on a serious topic — social media addiction.
I served as assistant art director for this project, working with the art director to allocate responsibilties, create a style guide and determine branding elements.

Students in a magazine design course were assigned to pick a magazine and topic of their choosing and make a magazine cover based on that. I chose to recreate The New Yorker in my own style, mixing elements from Illustrator with photo maniupulation and painting done in Photoshop.
The cover is meant to provide commentary on the dichotomy between social media, books and reading.
Alamance Magazine is a hypothetical magazine completed for a media design in which students were assigned to create mini-magazines on topics of their choice. I created a lifestyle magazine to serve both visiting and long-time county residents interested in stories on local businesses, recipes and community happenings goings-on.
